Afternoon Tea in the Wellington Lounge at the InterContinental London Park Lane is a sumptuous occasion and is the perfect way to spend an afternoon in London. The luxurious five star InterContinental London Park Lane is a fabulous establishment, housed in what was once a royal residence in the heart of Mayfair. Boasting amazing views of Buckingham Palace and perfectly situated between the two upmarket areas of Knightsbridge and Mayfair, the London location of this glorious venue couldn’t be better. Afternoon Tea takes place in the beautiful Wellington Lounge on the ground floor of the hotel, named after the stunning views of the Wellington Arch offered from every seat in the room. Traditional afternoon tea includes a selection of fine open sandwiches filled with the likes of Speyside smoked salmon, cucumber linguini and Sevruga caviar or rare roasted sirloin of beef, piccalilli, chives and horseradish followed by freshly baked sultana scones accompanied with Cornish clotted cream and strawberry preserve. Fabulous cakes and pastries such as vanilla and white chocolate cream profiterole or mango tranche with blackberry cream round things off perfectly. The Tea Palace provides the finest leaf teas and even offers the hotels own bespoke Wellington Blend Tea and champagne is available by the glass to add a touch of sparkle to the occasion. Afternoon Tea in the Wellington Lounge at the InterContinental London Park Lane is every inch the elegant and sophisticated experience that traditional afternoon tea should be and more.

My friends and I had a fabulous afternoon tea on Sunday 19th February in the Wellington lounge. The staff were attentive without being intrusive The sandwiches were little masterpieces, the scones freshly baked and the sweet cakes fabulous. The choice of teas numerous. The surroundings were comfortable and opulent with some great landmark sights to see from our table. As our get togethers are 3 monthly we really appreciated being left to chat. We will all highly recommend this venue to our friends and I am sure we will be back!

We had afternoon tea in December. The venue was elegant but not stuffy/pretentious. It was also my husband's birthday, and they surprised him with a cake after our dessert. They were very accommodating with our needs (we had brought our 5-month old) and the ambience was perfect for the occasion. We saw other young families, some formal couples and a group of young women taking tea around us, which made for a nice mix.
